Marlie

Puppy licks, scratches, sometimes digs into walls!

Is this something others have seen in Beardies? Any ideas why he might do this and how to discourage this behavior? We take him on two long walks each day where he runs and plays with other dogs, so I wouldn't first suspect boredom or lack of exercise. He also has a good variety of toys to chew on, but he's always gone first for the furniture. I have been able to stop the biting of furniture by making a loud noise to startle him each time he did it, but I rarely catch him in the act of licking or scratching the walls.

perhaps it's because he lacks calcium. my Peanut eats walls - I gave him pet calcium in pills and I've noticed some progress. but he still does it sometimes. today I'm buying him calcium in powder. I will put it in a bowl and let him eat whenever he feels he needs calcium. maybe it will help....

My dog startet diggin on the floors, but it was because he heard mice underneath. Caught him in the act and told him no, and he quit doing it. Maybe there's something in your walls too?
