I am a dyslexia support tutor for over 16's. I was looking for a dog to love after losing my Border Collie in '04. I came across Roxy on the net, she is a rescue. I now realise the first dog I ever loved, my dad's dog, when I was a toddler was a Beardie x!
Hi Helen, Thanks for your interest.
George came from Pam Rolleston (on the site) affix Kelham and is from Potterdale Princess and Blenmerrow Dream Maker of Sammara. He is 9 and we have had him from a baby. He was clipped pretty much always but had varying degrees of baldness, from like a sheep shorn to a neatly clipped beardie. Mostly this was because shortly after we got him my mum became a teacher and had a lot less time to spend grooming him.
Also we didn't have any contact with other beardie owners and lost touch with Pam as we moved house a couple times. So greatful that I have this group and others for the support, and it is fab to talk to Pam now.
I have been growing George's hair and grooming him myself since april 07 and am getting on really well. I have had some difficulties but thanks to everyones help have overcome them. I moved out at Christmas time so come home nearly everyday to see George (and the family too I suppose!) and brush him once a week which seems to keep the hair tamed :D
What is your Roxy's story, how did you get her and what do you know of her history?
