I have a Vax V-006 Turboforce Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner. I have found it to be a very effective and powerful cleaner. It coped very well with the hair of my late Beardie Charlie. You can see reviews of it at: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Vax-V-00...

Please help the unwanted dogs - Doris Banham Dog Rescue.

The Doris Banham Dog Rescue is a small charity that rescues dogs in the pounds who are under sentence of death through no fault of their own. This small charity is entirely dependent on donations and fund-raising in order to survive. Please help this very worthy cause, especially at this time of year. See their web page at:

My previous Beardies

Thumper, 1972-1985

Thumper was our very first Beardie. He was originally my sister's dog and came from breeders at Little London, near Basingstoke. He was the last one of the litter to be taken, but to us he was the best one. When my sister and her husband went to live abro… Continue

Urgent - Please help

Even though this small charity is not strictly a Beardie one, it is surely worthy of help. Please assist if you can.

Charlie (Hamwick Jubilation), 1994-2008

A few lines in memory of Charlie, my dear old Beardie, who I had to have put to sleep on Thursday, 21 August 2008, aged nearly fourteen years. He came to us in March 1997 as a rescue (or rather a rehome) through the good offices of the late Dorothy Jarrett of Southern Beardie Aid, the rescue section of the Southern Counties Bearded Collie Club (http://www.scbcc.co.uk). He was then just over two years old, but such was his delightful nature that you would think we had had him forever. A gentle gi… Continue

Hi Michael

Thank you for your message.

Only you can decide what is right for you. We now have a new beardie boy, Jago, 10 months. We love him to bits, but there is still a Murdoch shaped hole in our lives and in our hearts.

So whatever you decide, you cannot ever replace Charlie, and you shouldn't try. Hold him in your heart and he will live forever.

But if you do decide to get another beardie, consider it a tribute to your beloved Charlie.
