Oh bless, I bet they loved that! Haha. No, I've seen one Beardie near me. Very rare to see them, my friend has one, and I borrow her as much as I can. I live in Blackburn, hadn't heard of the place you mentioned. Hesketh Bank? I think I'm going to have to travel further afield. Yes, I am hoping to get one when it's 'cooked' all being well :) Really excited. I actually wouldn't get a dog, if it wasn't a Beardie now, they're so expressive and happy. Be nice to introduce a few together :D
I noticed you were in Lancs, me too! Gorgeous puppy :) I'm an owner in waiting, fingers crossed I will have one very early next year! At the moment I have to make do with cuddling my friend's Beardie.
hi Pam,
sounds like she had a busy day!! i bet she loved it all. george loves to explore new places, i think every dog does :) george is very good with cars but a bit scared of motorbikes. when he was a puppy we went to wales and were on a hilly mountain thing when some dirt bikes flew past, george ran off and didnt come back for ages. i was so worried as i have just read a book called Little Dog Lost by Suzanne Moorhouse. It is very good but very sad.
he is fine with fireworks though if he is in the house. its strange because he barks at some things but not others. for example the black bags that hay bales are rolled in in the fields (maybe he thinks they are cows?!?) you spotted any fascinations of Molly's yet? :D
As i said before I was only a little 'un when we got george so I dont remember what my parents did, but everyone recommends doing a puppy a little bit every day to get them used to it. sometimes george will be an angel and doze off whilst i groom him, other times he is a nightmare jumping up and turning round!
George is the family pet yes. although he thinks he is a person. he is wonderful and so loving. he is a very sensible dog though and you can really see the beardie intelligence and resulting sneakiness! and at times he gets very playful like a puppy again. the other day he was running round the park like a mad thing barking at me to play!
has molly got different barks? i can recognise a couple of georges - the come play, go away, stop it, the dad you're an idiot, the you're tugging my hair, telling my boyfriends dog off for eating his food bark etc etc. they all sound a little bit different though haha.
is molly going to be a show dog or a family dog? although they tend to be both :D
oh i do love the puppy hair :D i think george would look strange with it now though! i don't really know if it improves with age as I haven't been doing George that long. i think when they get old old then they get more stressed lying down for ages but surely George hasn't reached that stage! he's only 9!! i think he will be clipped when he gets really old. ahhh - it makes me sad to think about it :(
what is a spaniel like. i like the look of those little ones i think they might be king charles?
it would be nice if you could get a pic up of the two of them :D
i just saw on said site that molly is wispas sister - how lovely :D its good that gary wispas dad is on the site, you can see how wispa grows up. i regret not having met georges other siblings
hi pam,
i havent heard of that family. what are they like? obviously good for you to get a pup doh!
do not get me started on the weather/season!! george has been rolling in twigs, leaves, mud, grass and who knows what else!!
i made the mistake of washing him last week before i brushed him. i washed him friday a week after his last brush. went to brush him on the monday and holy moly what a treat did i get! the matts have sucked into one giant mat!!! well not literally but washing it before brushing turns them into felt. anyway i have been doing a bit each day since then and would have finished today but George got stressed out so I let him down with one leg to go :( so frustrating!
so my advice.. NEVER wash without a recent brush!!! its strange though that rain and rivers dont seem to do the felt thing...
how are you getting on with your puppy then? i was only a child when we got George so do not really remember it much. are you grooming her regularly? i have only been grooming george for a year and a half from bald - as in he was shaved! its hard to begin with but a really good site is
