This was yesterday and we took George. He won second most handsome boy!!! His first rosette! Unfortunately, neither me nor my partner are any good at taking photos so there isn't any good'uns to put up here. I will try and get the best one but no promises! lol Continue

Well after my chuffed-ness at the less than an hour grooming sessions I have had a matt-fest today and yesterday! I began grooming him last night and did a quick brush to sort through the hairs and work out major matts. There were quite a few reasonably small matts around his upper arms/biceps(???) which I worked out today. I spent a while combing him right through and he looks fab again :) All in all it went ok apart from a couple accidental tugs, at least he still loves me :) Continue

I missed a week! Doh :) Today I brushed George on the table, he dozed whilst I brushed which was nice. I think he really likes the table now because he knows what is going to happen the minute he is up there so he just gets on with it :) The last two grooming sessions have taken less than an hour which is great! We went out for a good walk around the park after. I took the ball and chucked it about a bit, because it was hot we had a sit down in the shade together. Ok, we sound like a married co… Continue

I just brushed George again. We had some visitors last week and they left his collar on after they took him for walks and I realised that this has caused lots of matts around his neck and the back of his ears. It took me just over two hours to get him all done! He dozed on the table so at least he made it easier for me :) He looks good and I have some new photos to post when I get around to it! So pleased with his long hair! He looks like a proper beardie! Continue

I have just finished washing George with his new shampoo and conditioner. Went well with no Houdini acts for once! The shampoo was very good and got rid of loads of dirt and whitened him up nicely. The conditioner was so nice and he feels softer so far. I only dried his undercoat with the hairdryer so he wouldn't catch cold, so I will have to see how it is when he fully dries out. I will use the conditioner as a grooming spray also so hopefully his coat will get into a better condition soon :) O… Continue

Decided on my shampoo and conditioner after speaking to a fellow beardie lover, Mel. Going for Plush Puppy Conditioning Shampoo with Evening Primrose and Natural Silk Protein Conditioner. Picking it up tonight and can't wait to get George in the shower :) Must try to stop him leaping over my shoulder... Let you know how I get on with them :) (If anyone reads this anyway!) Continue

I walked George before our brushing session today because he was very excited and I didn't think he would behave otherwise. Nice walk over the park with the ball :) He lied down on the grooming table today as he was tired from the walk and was a very good boy. I did one side then had a break and George decided he didn't want to get back on the table! So I bribed him with treats :) Quite a few little mats today which meant it took a bit longer than normal to do. Looking forward to buying some pro… Continue

George had a go lying down on the table today. I think he quite liked it because I brushed him lied down on the floor before. Still a way to go with regards to table grooming but he is being good so far, apart from nearly throttling himself over the edge - soon learnt from that! Continue

Brushed George on the table today. He was so good and stood very nicely for me even when I did his feet! So pleased with him and the table and my back doesn't ache! YEY!! Continue

I brushed George today, no real problems because I gave him a quick brush a couple of days ago. I had literally just put his grooming box away when Parcelforce pulled up and delivered my grooming table! It is darned typical that I had already groomed him!! I set it up and put him on it anyway though :) He leaned into me at first and I think he was a little unsure but after a minute he stood up properly. Hair good today after it's thorough wash and groom yesterday. Going to take him out shortly so no doubt he will attempt to jump in the canal :( Continue
