Last week we spent at an Obedience Camp with Petra Florshuetz from Austria. The Camp took place in the Giant Mountains, Czech Republic. Petra owns Giant Schnauzers, she does not only Obedience with them but also Schutzhund training. She is an experienced trainer and competitor.
We trained every day, watched videos, tried to clicker train people and played various other games and also went for walks. Some people also tried tracking and protection work.
On Thursday we had "unofficial" trials, we did very well, we got 9 or 10 points for every exercise. On Friday we entered the official Class 1 tests. I was a bit nervous, so the result was not so great, but still we managed to get 271 points, which is the Excellent grade. That means we are now qualified for the Czech Championships in Class 1.
Buffy did quite well, just the heel work wasn't as good as usual and we spoiled down under march exercise - the whole week we trained the Class 2 exercise where the dog is supposed to sit down first and then lie down. Of course Buffy sat instead of lied down in the Class 1 exercise where she shouldn't sit at all:-) And the last bigger mistake was that she went to find the scented article before I told her...
We left the camp earlier because we were going to the Beardie Specialty Show in Gotha, Germany on Sunday. Judges were Don Moir (bitches) and G. Spurrier (dogs).
Buffy was Exc3 in Champion class out of 6 bitches.
Congratulations to the show result too!
