How often do you groom your beardies? How old are they? Which products (brush/shampoo etc.) do you use?

Hi Emelie,

George is groomed once a week. It can range from one hour to two and a half hours, depending on the state of it and if he has been on 'adventurous' walks! George is nine but I have only been growing his hair for just over a year so I am still new to it. :) He is just a family pet so I don't mind snipping through the odd mat or under the armpits as long as it doesn't affect his appearance.

I have a bristle brush, wide tooth comb, narrow tooth comb, v-rake to thin out, de-matting knife thing (?), thornit ear powder, and a grooming spray made up of conditioner diluted down.

Shampoo is Plushpuppy Natural Conditioning Shampoo with Evening Primrose
Conditioner is PlushPuppy Natural Silk Protein Conditioner
They are both really good, and the conditioner is great as a grooming spray. Dilute both 1:10 with water to reduce strength and save money! :)

Sirius is groomed once a month, sometimes more often. He has a very easy coat when it's long.

Gandalf is groomed once a week. He has the biggest coat I'we ever seen!

Sirius is 5 y.o. and Gandalf 2.

I grooming Charlie once a week (1,5-2hours), sometimes often. Charlie is 17 month. I´m still testing to find a good shampoo.

Basie (4,5 y.o.) and Cherry (2 y.o.) are groomed once a week. My Sammy (2,5 y.o.) has very easy coat, so I groom her twice a month.
I use two brushes: Mason Pearson and Mars (pin brush).
At the moment I'm testing new shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo is BIO-GROOM Extra Body. The conditioner is BIO-GROOM Silk.

Hi Emelie,

I had a beaded collie before. Then I groomed him 15-20 min everyday. When I didn't go to the office which it was twice a week I groomed him a half hour. Even though it was never perfect. But he loved it so he came always to me with his brush. It was a kind of communication between us.
